Objective: The objective of this study is to investigate the prevalence of seasonal affective disorder (SAD) and subsyndromal SAD in a group adult in the semirural area of Izmir.
Methods: The Seasonal Pattern Assesment Questionaire was handed to a random sample. After 3-5 days, forms were back.
Results: The prevalence rates of SAD and S-SAD were found 2.21% and 9.22%. These results were lower than those measured with similar methods.
Conclusion: These results could indicate that East populations were less affected the seasonal changes. (Anatolian Journal of Psychiatry 2001; 2(3):169-174)
İzmir’de yarı-kırsal bir bölgede mevsimsel duygudurum bozukluğunun yaygınlığı
Amaç: Bu çalışmanın amacı, İzmir’de yarı-kırsal bir alanda mevsimsel duygudurum bozukluğu (MDB) veeşikaltı mevsimsel duygudurum bozukluğu yaygınlığını araştırmaktır.
Methods: Rastgele örnekleme yöntemi ile seçilmiş bir örnekleme mevsimsel gidiş değerlendirme formu (MGDF) elden verilmiş ve formlar 3-5 gün sonra geri toplanmıştır.
Results: Mevsimsel duygudurum bozukluğu (MDB) ve eşikaltı mevsimsel duygudurum bozukluğu yaygınlığı sırasıyla %2.21 ve %9.22 oranlarında saptanmıştır. Bu oranlar, Doğu toplumlarının bozukluktan daha az etkilenmiş olabileceğini düşündürmüştür. (Anadolu Psikiyatri Dergisi 2001; 2(3):169-174)
