Clozapine is an important member of atypical antipsychotics. It has frequent side effects including sedation, hypo-tension or hypertension, tachycardia, hypersalivation, fever, nausea, weight gain, metabolic side effects and falls in epilepsy threshold. Hematologic side effects are mostly pronounced. Leucopenia is the most cared hematologic side effect. Compared to the well known clozapine induced leucopenia, leucosytosis due to clozapine use is much less emphasized. This paper, presents a 28 year old, male patient with schizophrenia who has developed leucosytosis due to clozapine use, and discusses the hematologic side effects of clozapine in this context.
