Evaluation of anxiety and depression levels of food addictors

Objective: Although ‘food addiction’ (FA) is defined previously, it has been started to be discussed nowadays. Aim of this study is to evaluate anxiety and depression levels of bariatric surgery candidates with food addiction. Meth-ods: Food addictor bariatric surgery candidates were included to study consecutively. Beck Depression Inventory (BDI), Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI) and Body Mass Index (BMI) of patients are recorded. Results: Thirty-six (30 men, six women) food addictor included in the study. Mean score of BDI was 17.33±9.84 and BAI was 18.31±12.24. Discussion: Levels of depression and anxiety were quite high in food addictor bariatric surgery candidates.
