Objective: This study is undertaken to adapt Elder Self-Neglect Scale to Turkish. Methods: The sample of the study is composed of 484 volunteered women and men (60+ years) who live alone in their home or with their chil-dren across Turkey. Corrected item total correlation and Cronbachs alpha internal consistency coefficient are calcu-lated for reliability of Elder Self-Neglect Scale. High order confirmatory factor analysis is performed to test the theoretical suitability and construct validity for Turkish context. Results: In this study, Elder Self-Neglect Scale has four factors construction. Cronbachs Alpha Reliability Coefficient was found as 0.964 for Elder Self-Neglect Scale. Conclusion: These results show that the Turkish version of Elder Self-Neglect Scale may be used as a valid and reliable tool in determining elderly abuse and also for purposes of early diagnosis and in other relevant research. It might be recommended that exploring the validity and reliability of the scale is repeated in groups who have different socio-demographics and health sitution and that the scale is used in prevalence studies.
