Objective: Psychological factors and eating addiction have negative effects on weight loss in obese patients. This study was planned to determine levels of eating dependence of obese individuals who came to the clinic for inter-view of bariatric surgery. Methods: Data were obtained by Demographic Questionnaire and Modified Yale Eating Dependence Scale Version 2.0, which has Turkish validity and reliability by Tok (2018). Results: As a result of study, 63.2% of the individuals had no eating addiction, 16.4% had mild, 10.5% had moderate and 9.9% had severe. When questions of scale were examined, it was found that women were compared to men, II.level obese and morbidly obese group compared to the preobese and obese group, individuals who think they are drug addicts compared to individuals who think they are addicted to smoking and alcohol had higher meaningful difference. Conclusion: The prevalence of eating addiction was found to be 36.8% in individuals who decided on bariatric surgery. [Anadolu Psikiyatri Derg 2019; 20(0.200): 94-97]
